Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, Vice-Chancellor, AWKUM and Mr. Muhammad Pravez, Lecturer, in Management Sciences, AWKUM held a meeting on January 6, 2012 with the Director International Affairs Dr. Edward John Harcourt, International Officer James Minhas and Dr. Allan McKinley International Development Officer, University of Birmingham.

The Head of the International Affairs Dr. John warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed great hope for prosperity of collaboration between the two institutions. The meeting discussed in detail the possibilities of training the staff of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and academic collaboration in different fields of Education and Research. It was agreed in the meeting that fulltimeand split PhD programmes will be offered by University of Birmingham to the scholars of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan with 20% discount on standard tuition fee.

Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, Vice-chancellor, AWKUM invited the staff of the Birmingham University to visit Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan to further strengthen the collaboration between the two institutions. The meeting agreed that further visits of academics and International Officers between the two institutions will be arranged in near future to devolve the mechanism of co-operation for furthering the cause of this collaboration.
